MapleStory Classic World Founder's Access Is Live: Your Two-Week Plan Before the October 21 Grand Launch
Founder's Access Is Live: Your Two-Week Plan Before the October 21 Grand Launch
The Opening Hook: The Boat Has Already Left the Dock
Founder's Access for Global MapleStory Classic World opened at 6:00 PM UTC on October 6, and Victoria Island is packed again. Grand Launch, free for everyone, arrives on October 21 at 11:00 AM PDT. Holders of Founder's Packages have a roughly two-week head start; everyone else gets the same world, just on launch day.
This piece does not re-run the class tier list and it does not explain how to spend AP. It answers one practical question: what should you actually do with the next two weeks, and which decisions have a deadline?
Part 1: Pin Down the Timeline
The easiest thing to internalise: Nexon publishes every official timestamp already in UTC or PDT, so read the table straight. The dates and times below are taken directly from Nexon's release notes.
Founder accounts only. NEXON Launcher client is roughly 1GB; the Steam build bundles the full GMS install at about 60GB.
Servers are officially open. Level cap 100, three character slots per account, only 1st and 2nd job available.
Last chance to buy in if you want entry during Founder's Access.
Daily login required throughout. Final day is the 20th, not the 21st.
No Founder's Package needed. Founder progress carries over intact.
Three things worth stating plainly.
- Progress carries over. This is not a wipe. Levels, gear, and materials from Founder's Access are preserved into Grand Launch. Your time here is not a preview — it is a genuine head start.
- Founder's First Step ends October 20, not October 21. Hit Level 10, talk to the Maple Administrator, and check in daily. Day one pays 5,000 Leaf Points as an exchange coupon; days two through seven pay 1,000 each plus potions. Leaf Points feed the Citizenship system later, so a missed day is a missed coupon.
- The GM event window in your local time depends on where you live. The announced nights are October 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 16, 19, and 20, running 12:00–14:00 UTC — that's 4:00–6:00 AM Pacific the same morning, or 8:00–10:00 PM in Asia. Talk to Paul in Lith Harbor. Players on the US west coast get the worst of it; players in Asia get the best.
Part 2: The Founder's Package — Only Two Tiers Get You In
This is the single most common mistake of this phase.
Nexon offers three Founder's Packages, and the $30 tier does not include Founder's Access at all:
| Package | Price | Founder's Access? |
|---|---|---|
| Snail | $30 | ❌ No early access |
| Orange Mushroom | $60 | ✅ Yes |
| Zakum | $80 | ✅ Yes |
⚠ Players have already bought the $30 tier without reading the fine print, then discovered it grants no early entry. If your goal is to play during Founder's Access, the Snail package does nothing for you — it ships other items, not an entry pass.
Two platform differences also matter:
- Steam only sells the Zakum package ($80). If you want the $60 Orange Mushroom tier, Steam cannot sell it to you.
- The NEXON Launcher sells the mid and top tiers. It also downloads Classic World as a standalone client — roughly 1GB. The Steam version bundles the full Global MapleStory install, about 60GB.
In short: if you don't specifically need the Zakum package, use the NEXON Launcher, pick Orange Mushroom, and save $20 plus about 59GB of disk space.
One last rule that's easy to overlook: package items must be claimed from your in-game mailbox before December 1, 2026. The contents of the 30-day timed bundle are permanent once claimed, but they are non-tradeable — the only way to move them between characters is cash-shop storage on the same account. Do not claim them onto a character you don't plan to main.
The Crafting system unlocks at Level 10 with six separate trades — the most underrated early-Founder's-Access lead.Part 3: How to Spend the Two Weeks
The level cap during Founder's Access is 100, each account gets three character slots, and only 1st job (Lv. 10) and 2nd job (Lv. 30) are open. So the goal here isn't max level — it's laying the foundation that will be hardest to rebuild later. The schedule below is anchored to the calendar so it's easy to follow even if you joined late.
Days 1–3 (Oct 6–8): Level, 1st Job, Unlock Crafting
Start on Maple Island, run the beginner quests to Level 10, then take the boat to Victoria Island for your 1st Job Advancement. The detail most people miss: Crafting unlocks at Level 10, with six separate trades — everything from Smithing to Leatherworking, each with its own NPC and a recipe list that grows as the skill levels up.
Why it matters now: in the first week of a fresh world, everyone's gear is still primitive, so crafted goods are genuinely scarce. Push crafting early and you become the player people come to at Level 30. By the time the flood of Grand Launch players arrives on October 21, that head start has quietly turned into real buying power.
Days 4–7 (Oct 9–12): 2nd Job, Citizenship, and a Party
Reach Level 30 and take your 2nd Job Advancement to lock in your branch. We're not re-arguing which branch is strongest here — that's covered in depth elsewhere.
The more interesting system is Citizenship, which opens at Level 12 in Henesys and Kerning City. Register as a resident of either town and you get discounts on cabs, discounts on storage, and a discount at some general stores. Individually, small. But this game runs on frequent travel and frequent storage trips, and discounts compound.
The other job for days 4–7 is finding a fixed party. Channels 1 and 2 got so crowded that Nexon intervened: on October 7 the release notes moved the Kerning City Party Quest to channels 3, 4, and 5 because channels 1 and 2 were full. That tells you two things — parties form instantly right now, and the people you grind beside this week will still be around on October 21. Social capital earned during Founder's Access is the one thing you cannot buy later.
Henesys during Founder's Access: parties, trades and restocks all happen in the same square — best place to lock in a fixed party.Days 8–13 (Oct 13–18): Farm Bosses, Stock Materials, Lock In Your Party
Five bosses are live: Mano, Mushmom, Shade, Zombie Mushmom, and Jr. Balrog. That roster is exactly what you'd expect from a world where nobody has passed 2nd job yet.
What's worth doing in the middle stretch:
- Clear the current boss roster. Difficulty is low and competition is thin right now; the drops and materials will have real demand after launch.
- Work backwards from the player you'll be on October 21. Crafting materials are cheap today because supply is low and demand hasn't arrived. Launch will change that.
- Lock in your fixed party before the last few days. Pre-made groups are the difference between Grand Launch being a smooth ride and a chaotic one.
Final Days (Oct 19–20): Wrap Founder's First Step and Prepare
The Founder's First Step daily check-in closes on October 20. Make sure you've hit every day through then — day one pays 5,000 Leaf Points as an exchange coupon, days two through seven pay 1,000 each plus potions, and any missed day is a missed coupon.
Also: do not hold time for Forgotten Hollow. The new endgame zone appeared in testing but is explicitly not open in Founder's Access — Nexon says it's coming later. No need to reserve schedule space for it.
Part 4: What's In This Build, and What Isn't
Founder's Access is not the full game. Aligning expectations saves a lot of wasted time.

One warning about language: Classic World does not support Chinese. If reading English skill descriptions is a blocker for you, decide that before you sink hours into a character — don't discover it at Level 50.
Part 5: What to Prepare Before Launch
Over a two-week window, the thing that separates players isn't mechanical skill — it's whether you have resources ready at the right moment.
- Potion and skill book costs spike right after 2nd job. Mage classes in particular see MP consumption jump off a cliff past Level 30, and potion money eats most of your income.
- Watch throwing star stock early. Thief throwing stars stay tight through the early and mid game, and prices swing widely.
- Don't dump ores and misc drops on NPCs. Past Level 20, selling to players beats NPC prices by a wide margin — and Crafting keeps steady demand for materials alive.
If you'd rather skip the pure farming phase and spend your hours leveling and running party quests instead, these entry points cover Mesos and related items:
in a two-week window, time is more expensive than gold.
Part 6: FAQ
Yes — officially until October 14 at 11:59 PM PDT. Buy either the Orange Mushroom or Zakum tier and you get Founder's Access.
No. It carries over into the October 21 Grand Launch intact.
No. Only Orange Mushroom ($60) and Zakum ($80) include Founder's Access.
No. 2nd Job and Level 100 are the current ceiling.
Nexon restricted it to channels 3, 4, and 5 on October 7 because channels 1 and 2 were full. Just switch channels.
Yes, services for Global Classic World exist now. Before trading, confirm the seller supports the current build and use a platform that keeps a record. Refuse any request for your account password.
Conclusion: Three Things Are Enough
If you haven't logged in yet, or you're in and feeling directionless, just prioritize these three:
- Check in daily before October 20. Founder's First Step ends on the 20th, not the 21st.
- Push Crafting in the first three days, and grab Citizenship in the first week. Those two systems are where the gap opens up.
- Find a fixed party now. The people willing to queue alongside you on a maxed-out channel will still be there on October 21.
The boat out of Maple Island is already sailing. See you on deck at 11:00 AM PDT on October 21.
